Horizon

“God is looking for people who will faithfully act on whatever ideas God places in their minds, in spite of their fears and reservations”. (Mike Slaughter, Momentum For Life, p.101).

The infamous quote: “Everything that CAN be invented HAS been invented” is attributed to the Commissioner of the US Patent and Trademark Office in 1899, Charles H. Duell. It is no wonder that no one really wants to take credit for this ridiculous statement…   some folks say it was actually made by Henry Ellsworth (who held the same office in 1843).

But, how many of us subconsciously live by this motto in our own lives? How many of us say: “Our best days are behind us…   it will never be as good as it was”, or “I’ve done all that I can possibly do”. How many of us live our lives as if there is no new vision, goal, direction, invention, or creation for our lives on the horizon.

Rest assured, if we live like that…   nothing can ever be greater or better in the future. If we live like that we are simply saying, “I’m done…   there is nothing more I can do”. If we live like that we’ve got no momentum!

Now, take a look at all the great people of human history…   NONE of them thought or lived that way.

And neither should we.
