Every Day is New Year’s Day

I’m not waiting until January 1st this year to celebrate the New Year… or to make some resolutions.

When you think about it… every day is the beginning of a ‘new year’… I mean, isn’t that how we mark anniversaries? We take a significant event, mark the day, and celebrate (or grieve, or remember, or honor) on that day each year.

I’ve got a lot of improvements to make in my life… and starting on September 1st, I’m going to get super-intentional. I’ve got to get more fit, eat healthier, live a greener life, save more money, spend less money, pray more, be kinder, calm down, worry less… and the list goes on and on.

For each day leading up to 9/1 I am going to write about one of the improvements I hope to make… and reflect on it in light of the Christian Scriptures (The Bible). I believe that those inspired words of faith, the Bible’s… not mine :), can help us all be the best we can be… and I invite everyone to check that out for themselves.

Paul thought so too… he writes to his young student in the ministry, Timothy, these words (2 Timothy 3:16):

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.

I need some of that! How ’bout you?
