Our new Sunday celebration theme for the next few weeks is ‘Stepping Up and Stepping Out’ . Both halves of the phrase are familiar calls to action in our culture. Stepping Up: to accept, confront, commit, or volunteer. Stepping Out: to risk, break-free, change, or begin.
It makes sense to apply this phrase to our lives of faith. Think about it, most of us want a deep, powerful, and effective faith-life the same way we want a fit and healthy body: we know that we will look, feel, and act better while also being better prepared to live life to the fullest. However, like getting healthy and fit… growing in faith requires daily commitment, challenging exercises, and a disciplined diet, and THAT is not easy.
Together we will be inspiring each other to STEP-UP to a deeper life of faith and STEP OUT into the world in full confidence that God is with us… and has a plan for us!
So, join us for some good case-studies from the Bible and some good conversations on Sunday morning, or post a reply to the blog at our website, or even comment on this post on Facebook (at group: Friends of the Waretown United Methodist Church).
Trust in God, and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security.Take delight in God, and God will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to God; trust in God, and God will act. Psalm 37:3-5
