“Our first responsibility is to the people we have in our hearts- our children or those who are emotionally close to home. Psalm 128:3 reminds us of the priority of the home and the values transmitted therein”. (Mike Slaughter, Momentum For Life, p.76)
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for those who revere God. (Psalm 128:3-4)
If we cant find love, support, acceptance, security, and opportunities to grow and mature at home… where in the world will we ever find them. God’s plan for our lives has everything to do with relationships: relationship between us and God, relationships between us and family, relationships between us and friends, relationships between us and the community around us. Everywhere we find ‘key relationships’ are where God sets the foundation for our lives.
We all know that when relationships are good at home between husband and wife, father and children, mother and children, etc., then we are inspired to be our best. When relationships are bad… we are sapped, strapped, and drained… we feel like junk and cannot grow.
To gain ‘Momentum for Life’ we have to make ‘key realtionships’ a priority. If we are struggling in our close relationships… we will be struggling in everything else.
