I Don’t Know… Who Is ‘The Best’

Everyone wants to be the best. Everyone wants to be #1. Everyone wants to be loved, famous, respected, entitled, powerful, and prestigious.

That is the way of the world.

Jesus gives us another way:

The greatest among you will be your servant. All who exalt themselves will be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted. (Matthew 23:11-12)

The question for each of us is this: would you rather be the King of the World…   or a Servant of God?

If those servants are really ‘the best’ of humanity…   we may never know their name, where they live, or what they’ve done. Such folks (excepting the Mother Teresa types that gain recognition) live their lives faithfully serving and never trying to take center stage.
