With life always being so difficult and all… sometimes it is hard to get motivated.
It seems like some areas in our lives are just beyond help… we’ve been dealing with the same old junk day after week after month after year. Far from feeling a sense of joy and promise for the future… we can tend to feel resigned to more of the same old same old. That can really suck the life out of us.
But, what if we dared to hope that ‘this time things will be different… better’? What if we were to believe that we could be strong enough, courageous enough, and committed enough to bury the same old same old once and for all?
Still in Isaiah 35 today (this time verses 3 & 4) the prophet says:
Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are of a fearful heart, “Be strong, do not fear! Here is your God. God will come and save you.”
Whatever is making our hands and knees week these days… whatever is making us fearful… can be overcome by the God who is always working to save us. When we have this to count on… joy is just around the corner.
