Sometimes… the greatest things that happen in life start out from very very small beginnings.
We can all trace events in our lives… a passing glance shared with someone unexpected whom eventually became our husband or wife, a short and seemingly insignificant encounter with a stranger that led to a great friendship, a ‘what the heck’ whim that became a great job or career. Sometimes the greatest things in life have really small beginnings.
In the life of faith… we can say the same thing. ‘The Kingdom of God’ is like the greatest end result for each of us and for all the world, but it can start so small we may miss it.
Jesus says (Luke 13:18-19):
“What is the kingdom of God like? And to what should I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree…
Mustard seeds are small… seemingly insignificant, passing, short. But, when planted they grow to be a tree.
What would happen if we let God plant the Kingdom of God in our lives?
