For the next several days I’ll be leading a daily reading of Proverbs. It is a book in the Bible which offers both practical wisdom and eternal perspectives. Join with me each day in reading a chapter. I will offer a reflection on one verse or topic from each chapter.
Our lives are a reflection of our hearts and our choices. OK… there are many things that happen to us that are chance, crime, and bad luck… these things are NOT our fault. But, when we sit down and look at our lives (where we came from, where we are, and where we are going), most of us can see that our lives really do reflect who we are, what we believe, and what we expect in our future.
Take a moment and look…
Some of us may actually be HAPPY with what we find in our lives… but most of us are dealing with some serious problems. And even though not ALL of our problems are our fault… many are. We don’t necessarily like to hear that or deal with that because it means we can actually work at it and make things better. ‘Working at it’ is hard work and requires a commitment to change.
When we look at the reflection of our lives… what do we see?
As water reflects the face,
so one’s life reflects the heart. (Proverbs 27:19)
