Yeah… we all have a lot to say I’m sure. Usually, when we ‘have a lot to say’ its mostly criticisms. What’s wrong with the world, what’s wrong with the church, what’s wrong with the government, what’s wrong with our job, our spouse, our family, etc., etc., etc.
But what do we have to say to inspire HOPE in the world? Hmmmm… that’s more difficult for most of us. But, isn’t it true that the world is better to the extent that WE (we who are the world) can say inspiring things in addition to critical things?
The start of the Christian faith came about by a few followers of Jesus who were willing to say something radical and positive: God had made a new start in the world through Jesus.
If you are a Christian… or if you are hoping to step into the Christian faith… the one thing you need to know is that the WHOLE THING is built on ‘saying something’ for the world to hear.
Our Scripture reflection this week is one such example:
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:16-20)
