“The practice of devotion renews the ‘why’ in my life”. (Mike Slaughter, Momentum For Life, p. 42)
Why? Why do we do the things we do? We have we chosen the path we’ve chosen? Why are we planning the future goals we are planning. If we sit with these questions for awhile and really think about them honestly… we should see a pattern of priority emerge in our lives. In that pattern will be what we think is most important, what we want the most, and who we value the most.
I recommend everyone of us do that right now.
After you’ve reflected… where does the life of faith come in? Where does God come in?
For a lot of us (whether we are lifelong Christians or just beginning our search for faith) God, spirituality, and faith devotion ranks pretty low on the daily list of activities. Just as we cannot expect to be healthy without eating and exercising every day… neither can we expect to have spiritual growth, faith insight, and relationship with God without daily devotion.
