Paul lived [in Rome] for two whole years at his own expense and welcomed all who came to him, proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about Jesus with all boldness and without hindrance.
These are the last words of the Book of Acts, and it is fitting to close this chapter of the blog with these words because they reflect what we have been talking about, as ‘Works in Progress’, for the last 62 days.
“He welcomed all who came to him…” Sadly, many churches today do not ‘welcome all who come’… instead they either make people feel ‘judged’… or act like an exclusive club. We at Barnegat Anew understand that positive faith, positive change, and positive relationships being with a positive welcome.
“proclaiming the Kingdom of God”. We all have a higher calling and purpose. Even though we may be in the middle of some serious problems, or far way from where we wanted to be… we are never helpless or hopeless. We are all residents of God’s Kingdom and can always choose to define our lives by a different standard… the standard of faith and love, good deeds and kindness.
This is what Jesus did… and what it has always truly meant… to be a ‘Christian’
